”I am so mad at myself right now, I want to apologize to the fans and my team, not proud of my actions, headed home for a new start,” Stoudemire wrote on Twitter after the Knicks left the arena.
Amare left the basketball court following the loss and punched a fire-extinguisher case and crushed his hand and crushed his teams chances and coming back in the series. I am pretty sure Amare isn’t the only person mad about what he did. What about his team? What about the city of New York? What about the die-hard fans rooting for the Knicks to make this series interesting?
I understand the Carmelo Anthony-Amare Stoudemire pairing has gone quite as planned, but they still had a fighting chance in this series. It has been a frusterating first couple games for the Knicks as they have fallen behind in the series 0-2.
Amare was signed to a 5 year 100 million dollar contract and was given the task of restoring hope to the New York Knicks franchise. The Knicks quickly acquired Carmelo and thought it would be the dream pairing that would lead them to the promise land. Amare has been dealing with chronic back pain the last 2 seasons and missed the Knicks first round series against the Celtics which ended in a sweep.
The extend of Amare’s injury is still unknown and remains to be seen if he will be on the court in the must win game 3. I understand frusteration is a part of the game and you had high expectations but hurting your teams chances at getting back in the series only makes it worse Amare.
Will Amare be on the court of game 3? Will Carmelo carry the Knicks to a must win in game 3? Will Amare losing his compure turn out to be a blessing in disguise for the Knicks?
